# 21: 59 & Counting - Let the Good Times Roll

So you’re turning sixty. You keep telling yourself age is just a number.

Sixty. Sixty. Sixty.

Sixty.  Let that sink in for a minute.

Now that you’ve picked your jaw up from the floor, you might be wondering what the rules are for being in your sixties. Off the top of my head I can say with confidence that I have absolutely no idea.

After decades of responsibilities though - family, work, finances - our sixties can be the decade when we have the time and freedom to recreate our world. It’s the decade when most people retire (the average age being sixty two), start having grand children, and begin to feel the pressure to downsize or relocate. That’s a lot of change.

There are so many things to consider- everything from when to leave your job to how to wear your hair.

Since I’m turning sixty myself this year, I’m a little obsessed with being in my sixties. I’ve decided to dedicate my blog to talking about what it’s like to be in our sixties. I’ll share resources and good advice I come across. Most importantly, though, I’ll do my best to provide content that just may make navigating the sixties decade easier- even fun.

Let’s throw out all the things we were taught about what it’s like to be in our sixties and explore this new frontier together.

Fifty nine and counting … laissez les bons temps rouler!

Let the good times roll.
