Intermittent Fasting: How & Why I Got Started
It was the end of March, 2022, and I was closing in on my sixtieth birthday. And I was starting to freak out and knew I had to take action. Intermittent fasting seemed to make the most sense to me, and over the course of the following year I lost more than fifty pounds.
On this page I’ll share what I did to lose the weight, how I continue to stay on my intermittent fasting schedule, pitfalls I’ve experienced, and resources to help you have a better understanding of what intermittent fasting is about and how it just might work for you.

I use the MyFitnessPal App to keep track of what I'm eating. The thing people love about intermittent fasting is that really, no foods are off limits. But I have found that if I track my food, I'm much more likely to make better choices. This app is easy to use and the free version will accomplish everything you need! I've never been one to trust a diet that bans fruit. I keep fresh fruits prepped in my fridge at all times so when I'm craving sugar I have a healthy option ready to go. That doesn't mean I don't go for ice cream occasionally- I mean, who can go the rest of their life without it - but in general a piece of watermelon will give my sweet tooth exactly what it's wanting and its a much better choice!
